Commitment...
Moving forward from this class I will be more active on Facebook and Twitter. My goal with social media is to have one post each week that describes one of the current projects I'm working on. I also will be dedicating 15-20 minutes a day to look at blogs and news stories from the day so that I can stay current on news and new ideas in education. I think this piece is also important for maintaining motivation as the year takes off. Finally, my hope is to develop a greater connection with our orchestral stakeholders in Graham through Facebook. It's going to be a challenge, but I think with some of these changes I can be even more effective in what I do.

Great vision, I too would like to spend the 15-20 minutes for my own learning and engagement!
ReplyDeleteI will follow your FB Orchestra page when it is up and running!! I'm excited to see where you go as a digital leader at GKHS and FMS this year and encouraging others to join you in this endeavor.
ReplyDeleteI agree, social media has taken on a new meaning for me. Dedicating time to post sounds like a great habit that I strive to do also. This will add meaning for our stakeholders and help sustain your technology initiatives. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting your findings on student engagement. My district is focussing on this topic next school year. I am going to use some of your resources with my staff. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love that you mention that this keeps you motivated. I think the idea of teachers and leaders in education "filling their bucket" so to speak is very important, particularly when there are long stretches without breaks!
ReplyDeleteHans, it has been really great to hear your comments and opinions during class. You have a great passion for education of the arts that I think we really need right now! Classes like orchestra, that help ignite students passions are what keep a lot of them motivated to come to school. Your work is very important and your blog shows that your dedication to improving your practice is clearly focused on your students. Great work!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Hans! I look forward to helping you achieve your goals!
